Les Francofolies
Created in 1985 by Jean-Louis Foulquier “les Francos” as people call them, gather every year over 150 000 festival goers for 5 days of music and partying. Over 80 concerts will take place, celebrating French speaking artists of all generations.

La Sarabande of the girls of La Rochelle
La Sarabande, is a race of 5 or 10 kilometres open exclusively feminine where over 3000 women run all across town. The race tracks runs past all of La Rochelle’s most interesting places which makes it a unique way to discover, or re-discover, the town.
The International Film Festival
Created in 1973, the international film festival of La Rochelle offers every year short and feature length films from all corners of the world. An unmissable event for all movie fans, cinephiles or curious tourists.
Located in La Cour des Dames just on the Vieux-Port it welcomes many directors and actors for 10 days of screening and talks.
The La Rochelle Marathon
Every year, at the end of November the Marathon is held. Race enthusiasts from all over the country gather in town to run 42km all across La Rochelle. The race is keen on inclusivity, its handisport segment welcoming more and more people every year.
During this day La Rochelle lives at the rhythm of the runners with a big party held in the evening in their honour.
La Cavalcade
La Cavalcade is a tradition in La Rochelle. It is held every year in June and over the course of two days the streets are filled with carnival floats and streets performers
The Fishing Port Festival
Under a mild spring sun, the Fishing Harbour Festival attracts many visitors each year during a festive day. On the Port of Chef de Baie, young and old alike enjoy the oysters, mussels and grilled fish on offer.
A good opportunity to get together with family or friends, around a good meal. And what could be better than tasting seafood to the sound of guitars? A stage is set up and hosts artists throughout the day. A great way to set the mood!
The Atlantica Trade Fair
A must-attend event for tourism professionals, the Atlantica trade fair highlights new trends in the outdoor hotel industry and in leisure facilities. Among the different themes: facilities, cafés/hotels/restaurants, rental accommodation, leisure activities and finally services. Nearly 500 exhibitors are present to share their passion and know-how with the 7,000 visitors.
